Delivery Services

Expert Delivery

Ashby Lumber brings decades of local knowledge to every lumber delivery. We understand the unique challenges of navigating the Bay Area’s hillside properties, narrow residential streets, and strict parking regulations. Whether you’re a contractor coordinating multiple job sites across town or a homeowner tackling a weekend project, our delivery team works around your schedule to keep materials flowing when you need them.

Our approach to scheduled lumber delivery goes beyond simply dropping materials at the curb. We understand that different materials require different handling, from protecting premium composite decking during transport to ensuring dimensional lumber arrives straight and ready for framing. Our delivery drivers are trained in proper material handling techniques, knowing how to load and secure everything from delicate trim work to heavy engineered beams. When your delivery arrives, our team takes care to position materials within accessible areas, minimizing the distance you’ll need to move them while respecting curbside delivery parameters.

OUR LUMBER DELIVERY POLICY

Your delivery is our priority. To ensure prompt and accurate deliveries, we maintain these simple delivery requirements:

Orders must be paid in full (or applied to an Ashby Lumber charge account in good standing) before the delivery request is submitted. Orders not paid in full will not be scheduled for delivery.

Cash on Delivery (COD) orders must be paid by check or cash (no credit cards) within 30 minutes of arrival at the delivery site. If payment is not delivered after 30 minutes after arrival, drivers will leave the site without unloading and the customer will be charged a second
delivery fee for the next available delivery schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Delivery Service

While our deliveries are curbside only per our standard policy, our drivers work within these parameters to position materials in the most accessible location possible. This typically means placing materials at the nearest curbside point to your project site. For properties with challenging access—such as hillside locations or narrow driveways—we recommend discussing site conditions when scheduling your delivery so our team can plan the best approach.

For hillside properties and multi-story projects, we assess access routes and positioning options during the scheduling process. While materials must be delivered curbside, we work to identify the most convenient curbside location that minimizes your material handling. Our flatbed and forklift delivery options provide flexibility for different site conditions and material types.

Ensure clear curbside access at the delivery location, with enough space for our delivery vehicle to safely position and unload materials. Remove any obstacles like trash bins, parked cars, or landscaping equipment from the designated delivery area. Verify that any necessary street parking permits are in place if required by your neighborhood. If you have specific access concerns or site restrictions, discuss these with our team when scheduling so we can plan accordingly.
